Schools and Programs

XLRI offers a wide range of postgraduate and other management courses through its two primary schools:

The institute’s programs span various disciplines, including Business Management and Human Resources. Notably, it was one of the first management schools in India to internationalize its curriculum. XLRI has also embraced online education, offering virtual courses alongside its regular programs.

1. 1953: Introduced a two-year program in Industrial Relations and Welfare, which later became the Human Resource Management course.

XLRI - Xavier School of Management provides various PG and other courses to students across Business Management and various other streams. These courses are provided through its two schools of study, namely the School of Business and the School of Resources and IR.

To apply for admission to XLRI, candidates must submit an online application using their GMAT or XAT scores. It is possible to apply for multiple programs simultaneously. The process involves several stages, including form submission, candidate shortlisting for GD & PI, releasing the cutoff, and final admission decisions. Here’s a breakdown of each step:

Step 1: Application Form Submission:

The process starts with filling out the application form. Eligible candidates should visit the official XLRI website (xlri.ac.in) to complete the online application.

Step 2: Cutoff Announcement :

After submitting their applications, candidates must take the XAT exam for 2024 admission. Once the XAT results are declared, XLRI will release a cutoff list. Candidates who meet the cutoff are eligible for the Personal Interview (PI) stage.

Step 3: Shortlisting for GD & PI:

Candidates are shortlisted for the Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds based on their XAT scores and information provided in their application. Additionally, factors like work experience, academic achievements, and extracurricular involvement are taken into consideration.

Step 4: Final Merit List & Admission :

The final merit list is released after evaluating XAT scores, GD & PI performance, and other criteria. Selected candidates must pay the required fees within the specified timeframe to secure their admission to XLRI Jamshedpur.

Placement Process:

XLRI Jamshedpur follows a structured placements process:

1 Summer Internship Placements (SIP): All students participate in SIP placements in their first year, typically starting in September [4].
2. Final Placements: Final placements for PGDM programs occur from December to February, with a high placement rate. Average CTC for placements is around ₹29.89 LPA, with top recruiters offering competitive packages.

1. The Sir Jehangir Ghandy Library:

Established in 1949, XLRI’s library is a central hub for management literature. It houses 63,200 books, 485 periodicals, and various digital resources. It is fully automated with RFID and digital access features.

2. Computing Resources:

XLRI’s campus is Wi-Fi enabled, with state-of-the-art servers, workstations, and a 10-Gigabit-ready network. Students have round-the-clock access to academic resources, databases, and software, enhancing the e-learning experience.

3. The Academic Block:

This block features air-conditioned lecture halls with seating for 70 students, equipped with multimedia and recording capabilities. It also houses the computer center and syndicate rooms for collaborative academic activities.

4. Computer Centre:

The center is equipped with advanced servers from IBM, HP, and Sun Microsystems, providing application hosting, helpdesk services, network printing, and centralized computing resources for faculty and students.

5. Student Residences:

XLRI offers four residences, two each for men and women, with modern amenities like phones, water filters, and network access. GMP students have separate single or family accommodations with 24/7 internet access.

6. Auditoriums:

XLRI has three auditoriums, two smaller ones for 150 people each and the Tata Auditorium, seating 1,500. These spaces host events, guest lectures, and cultural performances, known for excellent acoustics.

7. Sports Facilities:

XLRI offers a football field, tennis and basketball courts, and a gymnasium with workout equipment. Students also have access to swimming pools, squash courts, and a track through local affiliations.

8. Medical Facilities :

On-campus medical assistance is available daily, with access to Tata Main Hospital, a nearby 850-bed facility, ensuring 24/7 medical support for students and faculty.
