1.Register for CAT (August to September)::

Candidates must register for the Common Admission Test (CAT) online. The registration window typically opens in August and closes in September.

2. Take the CAT Exam (November):

After registering, candidates need to appear for the CAT exam in November. This is a national-level entrance test that assesses a candidate’s aptitude in areas such as Quantitative Ability, Verbal Ability, and Logical Reasoning.

3. Check and Download CAT Result (January):

Results are typically announced in January. Candidates can check their CAT scores online and download their scorecards. This score is a crucial factor in the next steps of the admission process.

4. Apply for WAT-PI Based on IIM Cutoff (January):

Candidates who meet the IIM Ahmedabad’s cutoff criteria are eligible to apply for the Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI). The application process for WAT-PI is usually done online.

5. Participate in WAT-PI (February-March):

Shortlisted candidates are invited to participate in the WAT-PI round. The Written Ability Test assesses the candidate’s ability to articulate their thoughts, while the Personal Interview evaluates their overall personality, communication skills, and suitability for the program.

6. Receive Admission Offer Letters (April):

Based on the performance in CAT, WAT-PI, and other criteria like academic background and work experience, IIM Ahmedabad sends out admission offer letters to the selected candidates in April.

Placement Overview:

1. Student-Driven Process: The placement process is organized and managed by students, with the Placement Committee acting as a liaison between the institute's administration, students, and recruiters.
2. Courses Involved: Placements are conducted for both the Post Graduate Program (PGP) and the Post Graduate Program in Food and Agri-Business Management (PGP-FABM).
3. Two Phases of Placements:
  Summer Placements:
    - Conducted in November/December for the first-year students.
    - Managed by the second-year Placement Committee to ensure smooth operations and mentorship.
   Final Placements:
    - Conducted in two stages for the graduating batch:
    1. Laterals Process: Takes place in January, where companies interview students with prior work experience for mid-level managerial roles.
    2. Final Placement Process: Conducted in February, managed by a newly elected Placement Committee from the first-year students (PGP1s) to avoid any conflicts of interest and maintain fairness.
4. Diverse Opportunities: Companies from various sectors and geographical locations participate in the placement process, offering a wide range of functions and roles to the students.

Pre-placement Presentation by Companies:

Companies conduct presentations to introduce themselves, share information about their work culture, job roles, and expectations, and outline the opportunities available to students.

Submission of Resumes:

Students prepare and submit their resumes to the companies they are interested in, highlighting their skills, experiences, and academic achievements.

Short-listing of Candidates:

Companies review the submitted resumes and shortlist candidates based on their qualifications and fit for the role. These shortlisted candidates are then invited for further recruitment processes.

Lateral Interviews:

For candidates with prior work experience, lateral interviews are conducted. These interviews typically focus on the candidate's professional background and how it aligns with the company's needs.

Companies may conduct various preliminary processes such as aptitude tests, group discussions, or case studies to further evaluate the candidates' skills and suitability for the role.

Interviews:
