JNU PHD, 2024 Applications

JNU is inviting applications for PhD programmes for the academic year 2024-25. The registrations began on 23rd November, 2024. The deadline for Application is 3rd December, 2024. The interested candidates can apply through the official website at https://jnuee.jnu.ac.in

Applicants are suggested to visit the E-prospectus on JNU’s official website containing the following information.

1. JNU is offering admissions for the Ph.D programmes through

A. National Eligibility Test (NET) of University Grants Commission/Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (UGC/CSIR) –all three categories (Category 1, 2 & 3) as per UGC Public Notice dated March 27, 2024.
B. Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) of UGC, CSIR, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Department of Biotechnology (DBT) and National Board of Higher Mathematics (NBHM).
C.Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)

2. JRF qualified candidate

A candidate has to apply in online mode only with his/her UGC/CSIR NET percentile / GATE score as applicable. The candidates seeking admission through JRF have to apply separately under JRF category. However, a JRF qualified candidate can also apply separately in online mode for admission under NET category. No offline application will be considered.

3. Eligibility Criteria

(i) educational qualification
(ii) relevant NET/JRF/GATE subjects, as prescribed by the respective School/Centres/Special Centres of the University duly mentioned against each of them in this e-Prospectus.
(iii) Candidates having only educational qualification but not having qualified NET /JRF/GATE in the relevant subjects or vice versa, shall not be eligible for admission.

Important Dates for JNU PhD Admissions 2024-25

Online Application Submission: November 23 - December 2, 2024 (11.50PM) .
Application Correction Window: December 3 - 4, 2024 .
Viva-Voce Invitation: By December 12, 2024 (Tentative) .
Viva-Voce Examination: December 16 - 21, 2024 (Tentative) .
First Merit List Publication: December 30, 2024 (Tentative) .
Second Merit List Publication: January 8, 2025 (Tentative) .
Third/ Final Merit List: January 24, 2025 (Tentative) .
Final Admission Deadline: February 5, 2025 .

Steps to Apply :

Step1 : Fill the online application with personal details.
Step2 : Fill the online application with Qualification Details.
Step3 : Upload scanned images of photographs and signature.
The image should be in jpg/jpeg format only. Size of the photo image must be between 10 kb to 200 kb. Size of the signature image must be between 4 kb to 30 kb.
Step4 : Pay fee through online payment mode
