JEE Mains is a standardized computer-based test for admission to various undergraduate programs in engineering, architecture etc. However, what goes unspoken is the dream of thousands of Indian students who work day and night to achieve their dream of getting into a prestigious college. JEE is not just an exam, it is a culmination of the perseverance, hard work and dedication of more than thousand young aspirants.
JEE mains is a computer- based standardized test and for the 2025 exam, the pattern reads as follow- It comprises of 3 main subjects namely Physics, Chemistry and Maths. Each subject will have 20 MCQs [Multiple Choice Questions] and 5 Numeric Value Questions [where the candidate has to type the answer and the, multiple choices are not provided.] Therefore, the total number of questions are 75, with each question carrying 4 marks and -1 as negative marking if the answer is incorrect. To take it from the start it is one of the most difficult exams in the country and therefore requires immense practice. Many students in India opt for various coaching centres like Allen, PW [Physics Wallah] and Byjus to increase their efficiency.

Steps to Download the Admit Card

  • Visit the official website: jeemain.nta.nic.in.
  • Find the link stating "JEE Main 2025 Admit Card Download."
  • Login using your credentials (name, date of birth, security pin, etc.).
  • After submitting the credentials, you will be logged in.
  • View, download, or print your admit card as required.
    • Answer Key

      The JEE Main 2025 answer key is released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) a few days after the exam. It helps candidates estimate their scores before official results.

      Assessing the Answer Key

      • Download it from jeemain.nta.nic.in.
      • Cross-check answers with your response sheet.
      • Use the marking scheme: +4 for correct answers, -1 for incorrect MCQs, and no negative marking for numerical-type questions.

      Challenging the Answer Key

      • Log in at the official website using your application number and password/date of birth.
      • Select the question(s) you want to challenge and submit supporting evidence.
      • Pay ₹200 per question via debit/credit card or net banking.
      • Submit challenges before the NTA-specified deadline.

      Final Answer Key

      The final answer key is released after reviewing objections. No further challenges are accepted. It is used for result calculation.

      Result Calculation

      The JEE Main 2025 result is based on the final answer key using the marking scheme. The NTA score (percentile) is normalized to adjust for varying difficulty levels across shifts. The All India Rank (AIR) is used for admissions to NITs, IITs, and other institutes.

1. Know Your Syllabus and Exam Pattern

To crack JEE, the most important step is to get well-versed with the syllabus. Sit with a pen and paper, note down the pattern and syllabus, and analyze your weak and strong points. This helps in efficient preparation and time management.

2. Create a Timetable

After analyzing the syllabus, make a timetable. Allocate time to each subject equally and take breaks in between. Avoid using social media immediately after studying to improve retention.

3. Fix Your Basics, NCERT Style

Ensure a strong foundation in Mathematics and Chemistry using NCERT books. Focus on Inorganic Chemistry as it is closely aligned with Class 11 and 12 concepts.

4. Focus on the Important Topics

  • Maths: Vector, 3D geometry, matrices and determinants, application of integrals, quadratic equations, sequences and series, binomial theorem, limits, continuity, and differentiability.
  • Physics: Memorize formulas for parabola, ellipse, and hyperbola. Solve mock tests and aim for a good score.
  • Chemistry: Focus on general organic chemistry, chemical bonding, and coordination compounds.

5. Practice Regularly

Daily practice is essential. Solve previous years' question papers and mock tests to build confidence.

6. Time Management

Time management is key to success. Practice answering questions within a set time frame and avoid spending too much time on a single question.

7. Strengthen Your Weak Areas

Identify your weak points through mock tests, analyze mistakes, revisit topics, and improve your understanding.

8. Do Not Just Blindly Memorize

Instead of rote learning, focus on understanding concepts and derivations.
